Diving Lembeh Strait

A typical Lembeh Strait dive site is mostly sand, with small scattered patches of sponges, reef, or anemones. Your dive guide will bring you and 1-3 other divers down to about 60-80ft depth, where you start to look for photo subjects and slowly make your way shallower. The small patches of life are typically homes marine life such as clownfish, crinoid shrimps, small frogfish, pipefish, seahorses, nudibranchs, harlequin shrimp, etc. In the sand the dive guide will be looking for species such as various octopus, snake eels, mantis shrimp, gobies, nudibranchs, sanddivers, etc. You will be somewhat spread out, each person usually photographing one subject while the dive guide find the next subject. In the shallows juvenile fish are usually more common. It is good to discuss beforehand the rules your group will use for how long to stay with a subject, staying down current of other divers because of silt, finning technique, etc.

Nad Lembeh facility

NAD Lembeh Resort features 10 Beachfront Rooms and four Seaview Bungalows.  The Bungalows are local Minahasa Style with private balconies and airconditioning.  The Rooms all feature hot water and air conditioning, with a private verandah and seating area for each unit.

The Beachfront Rooms were made using local Coconut Timber (harvested from the land where the resort was built) hand crafted by our staff and local artisans from North Sulawesi. Each room is located on the waterfront with a beautiful view through our garden across the strait to the jungles and volcanoes of the mainland.  We have very few stairs in the resort, so if you are tired of climbing hills to get to your room, or tired of staying in sprawling resorts then this might be the place for you.

Marine Life Reference Zone

The clubhouse is also home to our entertainment centre and library.  For wildlife enthusiasts we have many reference books on hand for identifying the thousands of marine species found in Indonesia as well as ecology books about the local flora and fauna to be found in Sulawesi and South-East Asia.

Wet & Dry Camera Zone

Our computer and charging room ‘Dry Camera Room’ is adjacent to the restaurant and is for charging camera and light batteries and housing preparation. We also have 2 public computers available for downloading (one mac, one PC), editing, sharing, and burning your photos to CD or DVD. We offer free internet to all of our guests via a WiFi connection. For those who don’t want to travel with a laptop, we have both mac and windows systems available.  Our ‘Wet’ Camera Room is also just off the Restaurant, and has lots of benchspace for people to work on their cameras.
